Are you considering eloping in North Alabama? Maybe you live here and a large, traditional wedding just doesn't suit you. You might want to focus on an experience rather than a party. Maybe you want to include a small group of friends and family, but you still want the epic adventure elopement photos and intimate elopement experience! You don’t always have to go far to have a meaningful and amazing day. There are some really beautiful elopement opportunities right here in your back yard!
01 / CHOOSE A DATE FOR YOUR ELOPEMENT
You may already be aware that North Alabama can have some pretty crazy weather at times. It’s always good to consider the temperatures you are most comfortable in, no matter where you decide to elope!
Spring can be a really beautiful time of year with cooler but comfortable temperatures (50-70 degrees) and budding blossoms just about everywhere! But, keep in mind that rain is very likely.
Summers are lush and green, but the Alabama heat is real! (80-110 degrees)
Fall is one of the most popular times of year for weddings and elopements in North Alabama because temperatures are ideal (70-80 degrees), but because it’s a popular time, you might have some difficulty finding available vendors if you don’t book in advance.
Winter is less colorful and temperatures can greatly vary from (65-30 degrees).
CHOOSE A WEEKDAY FOR YOUR ELOPEMENT
No matter where you decide to elope, I always recommend choosing a weekday, Monday - Thursday to avoid crowds or other events being held in the area. There will likely be less traffic and possibly more available vendors on a weekday, even in the Fall!

04 / FINALIZE YOUR ELOPEMENT DAY LOGISTICS
Now it’s time to plan all the details of your day! Wedding planning on any scale can feel very overwhelming. But, it's important to remember that your day doesn't have to look like anyone else's!! The whole point of "eloping" is to have the power to do whatever you want to with your day. Don't forget that!
STAY AT AN AIRBNB
There are so many fun Airbnb options, depending on where in North Alabama you want to elope. Having a fun and unique space to wake up in on the day of your elopement, get ready with your partner and crash at the end of the night will be so valuable to day!
INCLUDE FUN ACTIVITIES
You don't HAVE to do anything you don't want to do! (I will be your biggest advocate for this, trust me. I feel it deep in my soul!) Brainstorm things you enjoy doing together as a couple! Consider including those into your day. Here are some ideas to get the ball rolling:
↠ Have a romantic picnic together
↠ Go kayaking or canoeing (place florals inside the boat for that extra pretty touch)
↠ Horseback riding

↠ Watch the sunrise/sunset together

TAKE SUNSET/GOLDEN HOUR PHOTOS
As a photographer, I am a BIG FAN of golden hour (the hour just before sunset)! Take advantage of this time and have some fun in a beautiful location with your partner as you watch the sunset together.
